The philanthropic arm of the Society of Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacists
Jeffrey Fudin, PharmD, FCCP, FASHP, FFSMB, served as a clinical pharmacy specialist in pain management at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York where he also directed and founded the PGY2 Pain Management and Palliative Care Pharmacy Residency. Dr. Fudin was a founding member and inaugural Trustee for the Society of Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacists (SPPCP). Dr. Fudin was a staunch advocate for patients with chronic pain and an educator to providers for over four decades. He was best known and loved for his dedication to his mentees and thus fitting that the SPPCP Foundation’s Mentorship Award is named in his honor.
The SPPCP Foundation Fudin Award for Pain and Palliative Care Mentorship was established in 2022 to recognize mid- to late- career clinicians who have exemplified themselves as educators and mentors to students, trainees, or early-career clinicians. The award is sponsored by and co-awarded with MedCentral (previously Practical Pain Management), the journal of which Dr. Fudin was a Co-Editor. Awardees will receive a plaque, a monetary award, and be featured in an issue of Practical Pain Management.
